Two-day practical session on 14 & 15 June 2024.

This event is in-person only and will take place in the Museum's Learning Studio. Booking is essential.

With Sandra Orme.

From Bruegel to Rubens, dry media has been used to dramatic effect. Join pastel artist Sandra Orme to explore contemporary ways of ‘making a mark’.

Explore using a range of materials from charcoal, pastel pencils and pastels to create expressive and exciting textural landscape artwork in both wet and dry techniques.

This will be an experimental and fun two days getting 'hands on' developing your skills in these evocative mediums.

The event will include demonstrations from the artist as well as practical help and advice with your painting technique.

All materials will be provided.

This is part of the Ashmolean Museum's Making a Mark season of events.
