Join President Professor Jonathan Michie in conversation with Bynum Tudor Fellow La June Montgomery Tabron as they discuss Global Leadership, Racial Healing and Racial Equity.

In this online session, La June Montgomery Tabron will discuss opportunities for leadership in every circle — and how global leaders in corporations, education, civic institutions and faith-based organisations are pursuing racial healing as a path for creating the equitable systems our children, families and communities need.

There will then be an opportunity to ask La June your questions during a Q & A session.

If you would like to submit a question beforehand, please email [email protected] no later than 17:00 (BST) on Tuesday 25 May.

La June Montgomery Tabron is President and CEO of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF) based in Battle Creek, Michigan, and is a Bynum Tudor Fellow at Kellogg College.

In 2014, Tabron became the first woman and African American to lead the Foundation in its 90-year history, having served in a variety of positions since she joined the Kellogg Foundation in 1987.

Tabron leads the Kellogg Foundation in its work to support thriving children, working families and equitable communities, embedding a commitment to engaging communities, developing leaders and racial equity into every undertaking.

Kellogg – the University of Oxford’s most international and diverse graduate College – was founded in 1990 to support students studying part-time for graduate degrees, something that the University had not previously permitted. Consistent with the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s longstanding focus on ‘helping people to help themselves,’ the endowment of Kellogg College reflected the joint commitment of the Foundation and College to give a second chance to those who may have missed out on university education first time round.

La June Montgomery Tabron was elected in 2020 to a Bynum Tudor Fellowship at Kellogg College.

This event is our annual Bynum Tudor Lecture and part of the 'Kellogg Conversations' series in celebration of our 30th anniversary year. This special programme of events was originally programmed for 2020 and has been rescheduled to 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
