John Piper’s Mixed Media Techniques

Discover how John Piper became involved in a government-funded project to record the landscape and life of Great Britain, and learn about his revolutionary mixed-media process of creating interesting textural effects by blending pastel, wax, watercolour and ink

What you will need:

• Watercolour paper or thick cartridge paper
• Watercolour brushes; one medium size and one for fine work
• Watercolour paints
• Coloured drawing inks
• Indian ink
• Dip pen and/mapping pen
• Candle wax
• Oil pastels
• Graphite
• A pencil
