Professor Ian Kiaer, Fellow of Brasenose College and Professor of Fine Art at The Ruskin School of Art, will present this event with Brasenose alumna, Jo Baring, Director of the Ingram Collection of Modern British and Contemporary Art and former Director of Christie's.

Brasenose College is fortunate to have pieces from the Ingram Collection on display, including the ‘God of the Forge’ sculpture by Eduardo Paolozzi. Jo will give some background on these works and will also highlight the new ways of thinking about 20th century British art discussed in her forthcoming book, Revisiting Modern British Art.

The talk will consider the role of public sculpture and issues it raises in contemporary society.
