Japanese Tea Ceremony

This is an opportunity to learn about the art of tea in Japan. Enjoy a bowl of matcha tea and watch a demonstration in the Ashmolean’s Japanese tea house.

Experience a moment of mindfulness and appreciate a gesture of hospitality while drinking a carefully prepared bowl of tea from a beautiful tea bowl in the calm environment of the tea house.

You can choose between a session at 1pm-2pm OR 3pm-4pm and sessions are one hour long. The event takes place in-person only, in Gallery 37.
