Phaedra Ensemble
Phaedra Ensemble creates music that exists in the spaces between classical, contemporary, and experimental genres, rethinking popular culture and collaborating across artistic boundaries.
Founded in 2014 by violinist and Artistic Director Phillip Granell, the group has evolved from a string quartet to a larger, flexible collective of like-minded performers, drawing from London’s diverse contemporary and chamber music scene and collaborating with musicians and artists from diverse disciplines.
“Cross-genre collective Phaedra is part of a new breed of ensembles tearing up the rules of classical music and creating a trailblazing hotpot of sounds in their wake.”
