Wolfson Feminist Society presents a dance workshop "Unease" led by Tirna Sengupta. Tirna is a PhD student at the school of Performance and Cultural Industries, University of Leeds. She is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer who tries to articulate her politics through her dance.

This workshop is an invitation to explore restrictive gender roles prevalent in the Indian 'classical' dance, Bharatanatyam. The session will enable participants to embody the unease that discourse on gender and sexuality provokes. It will also co-create material that destablises those rigid constructions of gender upheld by the institutionalised forms of Bharatanatyam. The workshop foregrounds the body in discourse and shows how fresh narratives can be created from languages we reject.
