Hell and back: On the road with the pandemic. What the virus taught us about equality, freedom and journalism.
Using her extensive ground level experience reporting on the COVID-19 pandemic, Barkha Dutt’s lecture will focus on how COVID-19 spawned a new social order, exposed entrenched inequities, revealed deep-seated prejudice and called out attention to the invisibility of the world’s poorest citizens. COVID-19 was often described as the ‘great equaliser’. Barkha Dutt will argue why, in truth, the exact opposite has happened.
This event is hybrid, taking place both in person and online.
