Francis Spufford is the author of the Costa prize-winning Golden Hill, the Booker-longlisted Light Perpetual and most recently Cahokia Jazz, a novel with a Jesuit hinterland. He has also written works of non-fiction, among them Unapologetic: Why, despite everything, Christianity still makes surprising emotional sense, and will be speaking about the role of faith in his writing, as well as the role of the Jesuits in the imagined city of Cahokia.
