The Castalian Quartet, Hans Keller String Quartet in Residence at the University of Oxford, return to the Festival with a programme that includes Janáček’s ‘Kreutzer Sonata’, and Mendelssohn’s Quartet in F minor, Op.80. Together with baritone Julien Van Mellaerts they also perform Samuel Barber’s hauntingly atmospheric Dover Beach.
