Tom Shakespeare is Professor of Disability Research at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a Fellow of the British Academy. He is a campaigner for disability rights and co-author of WHO’s 2011 World Report on Disability. He received a CBE last year for services to disability research.
