In Conversation with Professor Lisa Appignanesi OBE
An Afternoon with Professor Lisa Appignanesi OBE
In Conversation with Professor Ankhi Mukherjee
Join us for an inspiring afternoon featuring Professor Lisa Appignanesi, OBE, FRSL — one of today’s most compelling voices on culture, history, and the mind. A prize-winning author of Mad, Bad and Sad and Losing the Dead, Lisa offers profound insight into the complexities of emotion, memory, and identity. As former Chair of the Royal Society of Literature, English PEN, and the International Man Booker Prize, she has shaped major conversations around freedom of expression and the arts.
Lisa will be joined by Professor Ankhi Mukherjee (University of Oxford) for a lively and thought-provoking dialogue exploring her work, ideas, and the current literary landscape.
This special event also serves as the annual lecture and will be followed by the Oxford-BNU Creative Writing Award Ceremony 2025.
Founded by Nobel Laureate Mo Yan and based at Regent’s Park College, the award is open to all Oxford University students and staff, with the aim of fostering international and cross-cultural creativity within the global literary community.
