Conifer Tree Identification Course at Harcourt Arboretum
During this practical workshop led by Ben Jones, Curator of the Arboretum, you will be examining twigs, bark, growth habits and form as aids to identifying conifer tree species. During this workshop, you will get hands-on experience and, by the end of the session, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge and skills required to recognise key species. The original Pinetum at Harcourt Arboretum was laid out by William Sawrey Gilpin in the 1830s. The Arboretum contains some of the oldest giant redwoods in the UK and a fantastic collection of rare conifers. You are welcome to bring a packed lunch for after the course has finished.
