Join us for a special event in conversation with leading philosopher Professor Sir Richard Sorabji CBE.

Sir Richard is a philosopher and historian of ancient Western philosophy, an Honorary Fellow of Wolfson College, Oxford, and Professor Emeritus and Fellow of King’s College London. He is widely recognised for his work on Aristotle and Gandhi and is the author and editor of 16 books and more than 100 philosophical translations. In 2010 he published Opening Doors, a biography of his great aunt Cornelia Sorabji, which has had film rights requested. In 2014 he was awarded a knighthood by Her Majesty The Queen in recognition of his ground breaking contribution to philosophical scholarship. He is a Fellow of both the British Academy and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Sir Richard will discuss how we can better make sense of an ever-changing world, find purpose, and create a world led by collective compassion and kindness.

The Trailblazer Chronicles is a joint speaker series between the Entrepreneurship Centre at Saïd Business School, the Oxford Foundry and the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship. The series seeks to invite individuals who are pioneers of their personal journey, business or industry. This academic year’s theme is Collective Power. In these uncertain times, it is more important than ever to bring together our collective strength and build a more equitable future for all. It is within our power to elevate and support each other to contribute to the advancement of a better society.

This event is open to all students, staff, alumni and the general public.
