Berlin Punk: Art and Music - Online Talk

Join us for a virtual evening of conversation between Salomé, a visual artist and musician featured in the Ashmolean's current exhibition Young & Wild, and Dr Jeff Hayton, the author of Culture from the Slums: Punk Rock in East and West Germany, published this spring by Oxford University Press.

In the talk, the speakers will illustrate the links between art and music in Germany in the 1970s-80s, with particular attention to the political climate and cultural landscape in 1980s West Berlin.

The event will be led by Ashmolean curator Sydney Smith.
