The Beasts Before Us: The Ancient Origins of Mammals
In this event, palaeontologist and museum researcher Dr Elsa Panciroli will talk about her new book Beasts Before Us, which charts the emergence of the mammal lineage from their murky split from the reptiles at the dawn of life.
Joined by fellow palaeontologist Dr Erin Saupe, they'll discuss how mammal ancestors made the world theirs long before the rise of dinosaurs, transforming from enormous beasts with faster metabolisms, to exploit miniaturization in the time of the dinosaurs.
