John Taverner (d. 1545) is arguably the most famous of all early Tudor composers, and he became the first Informator Choristarum at Christ Church (then known as Cardinal College) in 1526.
Alamire, consisting of the world’s finest consort singers under the directorship of David Skinner, perform some of Taverner’s most expansive and flamboyant creations, including the great Votive Aniphons Ave Dei patris filia, Gaude plurimum and O splendor gloriae.
