An exclusive talk for Members of the Ashmolean
Online and in person
With Colin Harrison, Senior Curator of European Art at the Ashmolean
The group of independent artists who became known as the Impressionists first exhibited together in 1874, and, with changes in the participants, held a further seven exhibitions until the last in 1886.
This lecture by senior curator Colin Harrison will explore the origins of the movement, its development, and some of the personal and artistic disagreements among its leaders.
This talk will be recorded and this will be shared with ticketholders following the event.
