Statistics Taster Day
Statistics at university is very different from that learned at school. It is far more mathematical, but also provides the opportunity to work with large datasets and use custom software to analyse data and produce results that can be used to better understand our world. This taster day explores some of the lesser-known areas of Statistics and the ways that it can be applied to many different fields.
The day will include
• workshops exploring different areas of Statistics
• lunch
• information on the Oxford admissions process
• optional college tour.
The day is open to Year 12s studying at UK schools who are interested in applied mathematics. They should be doing Maths at A-level and expect to achieve A*AA (or equivalent). Priority for places will go to those at state schools, but booking requests may be made by any student.
