DPhil/PhD Application Workshop (Two-day residential)
A two-day residential workshop to assist candidates from low-income households and under-represented groups at Oxford to gain valuable skills that will help them if they wish to apply to a Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) or departmental DPhil programme.
This event is targeted towards students who would not normally consider applying to Oxford and as such priority will be given to candidates not currently undergraduates at Oxford. We aim to give such candidates confidence by gaining more familiarity with the Oxford admissions process and understanding what is looked for in an application. We will introduce them to aspects of college life, and current students will lead a treasure hunt around the city so that the participants can start to find their way around. Candidates will stay at St Hugh's college, and will mix with current students and academic and admin staff. Sessions will include what makes a good application, and an interview workshop. All travel, accommodation and meals are included. Candidates coming from far away are welcome to stay for an additional night before or after the event.
More information about the workshop and how to apply can be found on the department's website. The deadline for applying is Monday 20 March 2023.
