The University of Oxford has four academic divisions, within which are individual departments, faculties or other centres. The Department for Continuing Education forms a fifth grouping and although not organised into separate faculties or departments, its board and teachers have the same responsibilities as the divisions.

Shearer West left her role as Head of the Humanities Division earlier this year and the new appointee for 2015/6 is Professor Chris Wickham.

The previous Head of the Maths, Physical and Life Science Division, Professor Alex Halliday has just left his post. He will be replaced by Professor Donal Bradley CBE FRS on the 1st September 2015.
