| Description | Are you thinking of applying to study Mathematics at university? In 2026 the Oxford Mathematics department is running a weekly livestream with maths problems and problem-solving strategies, with a focus on the Test of Mathematics for University Admission (TMUA) and mathematics interviews. The sessions are free and available for everyone, and are recorded so that you can watch them later even if you can't join us live. No registration needed. | Description | St Hugh's Connect is an online programme consisting of hour-long sessions led by student ambassadors. During these sessions, Sixth Formers have the opportunity to talk directly to current St Hugh’s undergraduates about various aspects of the application process, to receive some top tips on preparing a competitive application, and to hear about the undergraduate experience from a range of authentic student voices. There are five upcoming sessions this spring/summer, focused around choosing a course and university, and preparing a strong application for top universities. You are welcome to sign up for as many of these sessions as you would like. In this session, we will give an overview of how Oxford admissions tests work, and the interview process. Our ambassadors will talk about their own experiences, and give their advice on how you can begin to prepare. Like all of our outreach activities, Connect is completely free of charge and students can attend as many sessions as they like. Please note that Connect sessions are aimed at students at state-funded schools or colleges. |

| Description | The ACS Annual Access Conference is one of the largest student-run higher education access conference in the UK and was built by ACS members students to help prospective state-school students in Year 12 of African and Caribbean heritage engage with the Oxford application process and make competitive applications to top universities in the UK. Talks throughout the day include insight from Oxford admissions officers on what makes a competitive application, subject sessions and personal statement workshops from ACS members, as well as a lecture from a guest speaker and panel with Oxford alumni on Life After Oxford, and many more fun activities with fellow participants. |
| Further information | Travel reimbursement (case-by-case) will be offered for this event as well as lunch, so please do not be discouraged from applying because of financial constraints; more details will be given on this if you are shortlisted. The deadline for applications is 11 June 2026, although the application form may be closed up to three days earlier if demand for the event is very high. |

This is a great example of a super-curricular activity that you could put on your personal statement and is also a fantastic opportunity to meet an Oxford tutor and ask them questions about their research and what Physics at Oxford is like. Eligibility criteria This event is open to pupils in Year 12 attending UK state schools who are interested in studying English at university. You must be studying English Literature or English Language and Literature at A-level (or equivalent), and be on track to achieve AAA or above (or equivalent). Dr Lois Brand will be discussing 'The Case of the Unzipped Woman': using the real case of a critically ill patient presenting to the Emergency Department, this talk will follow the patient's diagnostic journey from initial assessment to definitive diagnosis. It will highlight how key learning from the Oxford Undergraduate Medicine Course will prepare you to manage such a patient - from a thorough grounding in the basic medical sciences covered in the pre-clinical course, to diagnostic reasoning, communication skills and practical procedures in the latter years. The day will involve workshops on personal statements, admissions tests, and interviews, as well as plenty of opportunities to ask questions of admissions staff, current Oxford students, and academics. Lunch will be provided, and participants can also then stay with us overnight at Christ Church, completely free of charge, for the University Open Day on 18 September.
