Protect your bike

Bike theft is the most prevalent crime across the University. The majority of bikes are stolen on weekday afternoons, with hotspots including the Science Area, the Keble Road area and the Saïd Business School.

Avoid becoming another bike crime statistic by securing your bike to an immovable object using a good-quality D lock. Locks can be purchased from University Security Services at a discounted price of £15. Call (2)72944 or email for details.

The University also operates a cycle registration scheme. Membership of the scheme means the cycle is recorded on a University database and a nationwide ‘Immobilise’ property register, helping Security Services and the police to trace the owners of found cycles. For details, phone (2)72944.
