PAD workshops

Are you responsible for communications in your department or college? Would you like to find out more about best practice and share ideas with colleagues? These sessions are free of charge. Refreshments will be available and you are welcome to bring your own lunch.

Lunchtime sessions

These one-hour sessions give a high-level introduction to a current communications topic, with opportunity for questions and discussion. Numbers limited to 50-80, depending on room availability.

Marketing campaign case studies: Mindgrowing and Curiosity Carnival

Senior Communications Planning Manager in the Public Affairs Directorate, Victoria Pearson, and Interim Director of Communications and Marketing for Gardens, Libraries and Museums (GLAM), Susannah Wintersgill shared their insights on two large campaigns Curiosity Carnival and Mindgrowing (GLAM).

Informal discussion group

Held once a term, these one-hour sessions are an opportunity for informal discussion with communications colleagues to share ideas and good practice. No agenda, no presentations - just a chance to talk and learn. To encourage discussion and participation, numbers limited to 30.

Master classes

These 2-3 hour workshops explore a communications topic more deeply. Given that these sessions are more interactive, numbers are limited to 30.

Continuing Professional Development points

If you are a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Affairs, you can collect Continuing Professional Development points when you attend these sessions. You will need to sign in at each session you attend to be eligible.

  • 5 CPD points when you attend 2 or more of the one-hour lunchtime sessions in a term (including the informal discussion group) - you will be issued with a completion certificate at the end of the term.
  • 5 CPD points for each master class - you will be issued with a completion certificate after the session.
