Events Office

The University Events Office consists of a team of highly experienced, event management professionals. Together the Events Office team helps create and deliver over 40 events per year, attracting over 5000 attendees.

What we do

The Events Office applies planning expertise and attention to detail in order to ensure that each event is of a high standard, and that all objectives are met. We work with many different departments and colleges to achieve two common goals:

  • to create an experience of the University that leaves a lasting and memorable impression in the minds of every attendee
  • to promote an understanding of the University and to recognise the generosity and commitment of our supporters.

The range of events we organise is diverse; they include traditional University ceremonies such as Encaenia, visits by Heads of State, the opening of new University buildings, community events, as well as lectures and receptions in Oxford, London and overseas. The majority of the events we are involved in are hosted by the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor.

Whilst we organise many events on behalf of the University many more are organised by other departments and colleges. We are able to act in an advisory capacity to those involved in organising their own events in order to ensure that all objectives are achieved. We also provide a cost-effective professional event management service.
