Oxford Foundry

The Oxford Foundry is the University’s new entrepreneurship centre, located on Hythe Bridge St. It’s for all students of the University, regardless of discipline or degree level; much of it is student-led. Since it opened in 2017, it has welcomed around 1,000 students and produced a range of workshops, meetings and events focused on helping students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset. Host families required

We are looking for caring host families living within a 30-mile radius of Magdalen Bridge who can provide single- or double-room accommodation and full board (packed lunch) in a warm and friendly environment for our German students, aged between 16 and 18, attending intensive 2-week exam preparation courses with us in Oxford. Students on our courses have tuition from 9am to 6pm every weekday and a full evening and weekend activity programme. Our course dates for this year are: Easter: 25 Mar–7 Apr; Summer: 24 Jun–15 Sept. Groups and societies

The Oxford University Newcomers' Club at the University Club, 11 Mansfield Rd, OX1 3SZ, welcomes the wives, husbands or partners of visiting scholars, of graduate students and of newly appointed academic and administrative members of the University. Tutoring opportunity in Oxford, summer 2018. Seminar for Advanced English Studies is a family-run tutorial college that specialises in running courses for German students about to take their Abitur exam in English. The courses are run at St Hilda’s from the beginning of Jul to mid-Sept. We are very interested in recruiting experienced teachers, as well as graduate and undergraduate students of English or Modern Languages (especially German) to teach on our programme.
