Presented by the Faculty of Music, University of Oxford, and Real World Records
For one night only, we are pleased to present a remastered and immersive live performance of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Party at the 1985 WOMAD Festival.
On Friday 30 April, Real World Records and the Faculty of Music at Oxford University will live-stream this seminal performance in a new immersive mix, together with a visual slideshow. The event will be followed by a panel discussion with ethnomusicologist Dr Thomas Hodgson, singer/songwriter Wajiha Naqvi, Qawwali singer Dhruv Sangari and a special guest, to be announced. This will be a one-off, live event and not to be missed.
The concert is part of our Sounds of South Asia Series, which is supported exclusively through donations. If you would like to support this series, and help fund future events like these, please do consider selecting ‘Ticket with Donation’. A £5 or £10 donation will help us to organise future events.
