Holst: Savitri

A programme of works by Gustav Holst in which the chamber opera ‘Savitri’ is given a rare staged performance. Internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano Yvonne Howard plays the title role with Mark Chaundy as Satyavan and Matthew Hargreaves as Death. The programme also includes two settings of ‘Choral Hymns from the Rig Veda’ and the ‘Fugal Concerto’. Corona Strings and chamber choir Choros are conducted by Janet Lincé.
