Pop-up university vaccination centres in Oxford

Last updated 17 September 2021

All staff and students continue to be strongly advised to get vaccinated as soon as possible – to protect yourself and others.

Oxford University is working with Oxford Brookes and the NHS to provide COVID-19 vaccination centres for students and staff who need to get their vaccines in the run-up to Michaelmas term.

The centres are primarily aimed at students (and particularly international students) who have been unable to get fully vaccinated before arriving in Oxford. They are operated by the NHS and supported by the universities.

University Club vaccination clinic: opening Monday 20 September

Location: University Club, 11 Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3SZ (entry via the back entrance)

Opening hours: 10am to 8pm Monday to Friday; 10am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday (until at least 3 October). Please note that closing time may be earlier than advertised if all the available doses have been used for the day.

  • For all members of the public, aged 16 and over, including University staff and students.
  • Walk-in service only. No pre-booking.
  • For first and second doses of Pfizer vaccine. Second doses for those aged 18 or over (or who will turn 18 within 3 months) and must be at least 8 weeks after a first Pfizer dose.
  • It is helpful, although not essential, to have your NHS number ready when you visit the centre. You may be able to find it via the NHS lookup service.

Please wear a face covering, if you can, at the clinic and do not attend if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 (if you suspect you have symptoms, you must self-isolate immediately and book a PCR test).

You may use the service even if you have an appointment booked elsewhere further in the future (so long as you remember to cancel that appointment). If you have your first vaccination dose at a walk-in centre,  you can book your second dose using the NHS booking system (you’ll need to wait 24 hours after your first dose before you can book).

Other walk-in clinics

Information about other walk-in vaccine clinics in Oxfordshire can be found on the Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group website or you can book a vaccination appointment online via the NHS system.

Further vaccine information for students

More vaccine information is available on the student page of the University coronavirus website – for both UK and international students. Please remember you are only fully vaccinated two weeks after your second dose, so if you can get vaccinated with a UK-approved vaccine before coming to Oxford, please do so.
