- Applying to Oxford and Cambridge, including student life
- Making a competitive application
- Student finance and careers
- Teachers and HE Advisors forum – new programme for Northern Irish teachers

Events in Oxford
Northern Ireland Summer School
Each summer, St Catherine’s College and the Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach department welcome a large group of Northern Irish students and teachers to Oxford. This three-night residential is designed for Year 13 (Lower Sixth) students to gain an insight into what life in Oxford University is like. Academically, students are introduced to the tutorial system through two separate sessions with college tutors, whilst also receiving informative talks on the admissions process. Socially, the students have the opportunity to mix with students from across Northern Ireland, as well as with current Northern Irish Undergraduates through a variety of activities. Teachers take part in parallel teacher sessions on supporting their students' applications.
The Northern Ireland Summer School usually takes place at the end of June/beginning of July each year.
If your school is interested in participating in the Summer School, please email email@example.com
UNIQ Spring, UNIQ Summer and UNIQ Digital
UNIQ is a programme of free residentials at the University of Oxford, plus a digital programme of activities. UNIQ is open to students studying in their first year of further education and who are based at UK state schools/colleges.
Students apply for a specific course that aims to give them a realistic view of Oxford student life. UNIQ participants live in an Oxford college/annexe for one week in the summer. They attend lectures and seminars in their chosen subject, and workshops about applying to Oxford. Participants also take part in a variety of social activities in the evenings.
Applications open in December each year.
Find out more about the UNIQ programme at www.uniq.ox.ac.uk.
Teacher Summer School
The Oxford Teacher Summer School is a two-day residential conference in Oxford for teachers at state-funded schools and colleges in the UK. The conference aims to support teachers to stretch and challenge their most able students, and equip them with the best possible advice and guidance on selective university admissions.
The conference is aimed at teachers with roles/responsibilities in university guidance. We particularly welcome applications from schools with a limited history of sending students to selective universities generally and Oxford specifically. Participation in the conference is free and includes two nights’ accommodation in an Oxford college and meals. We can also offer a contribution towards the travel and cover costs associated with attending.
The Teacher Summer School usually takes place in Oxford in July each year.
For further information please visit www.ox.ac.uk/teachersummerschool.
