If you are thinking about going to university and want to find out what student life is like first, or perhaps how to put in a strong UCAS application, then consider getting involved in one of the activities listed here. They are all free and you apply directly online – you don’t need your school to apply for you.

St John’s Inspire Programme

An online engagement programme for Year 11 pupils from non-selective state schools. All participants are also invited to apply for a summer school the summer following their GCSEs.

An opportunity for UK state school students to experience university life. Stay in Oxford for four nights and attend academic tasters and advice and guidance sessions by day.


Target Oxbridge

We invite Black African and Caribbean students at UK state schools to this programme for ongoing mentoring, academic tasters and help with applications.


Aim for Oxford 

A two-year-long programme for state school students in the North-East, supporting them to make successful applications to the university.
