The application form for entry in 2021/22 is now closed. If you are looking for information on how to apply for undergraduate courses, please see our webpages on how to apply.
Please note that candidates cannot apply for admission to both Oxford and Cambridge. If you apply for a choral award at Oxford you cannot also make an application to Cambridge.
Please note that a choral scholarship can be held only at the college where one holds an academic place.
The choral award application form consists of two sections: your personal details, followed by your college preferences. In addition to submitting this form, you must also submit one reference.
Please read the introductory information carefully before completing the form.
The form requires a lot of mandatory information, and you will not be able to edit these details once you have submitted them. We advise you, therefore, to save your entry elsewhere (e.g. in a Word document), and to check the information you have entered carefully before clicking Submit.
Please do not use the '-' (hyphen) symbol as a bullet point in your statement, as this may truncate the text which is submitted.
If you have queries about completing this form, please contact us by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) before submitting.
Please complete all your personal details. Please ensure in particular that your contact details are entered carefully.
The second section of the application form allows you to nominate up to ten preferences of college/year of entry.
This grid shows which colleges are offering choral awards for 2021 and 2022 entry, and for which particular voices (if applicable).

You may like to print this grid to plan your order of preferences.
You should first check that the college preferences you are naming all offer the subject you intend to study. You can see which colleges offer your proposed course here.
Use the drop-down boxes to show, in order, the colleges and years of entry for which you wish to be considered. You may only choose each option once. If you wish, you can jump back and forth between 2021 and 2022 entry.
You can state as many preferences (up to ten) as you wish, but you are advised to select at least three, in case your college of first preference is particularly oversubscribed. Once you have selected all your preferences, leave the remaining boxes to state 'No further preference'. You can also indicate if you are willing to be considered by other colleges beyond your list of preferences.
The final question asks if you would like your second choice of college for choral awards to be taken into account, if possible, during the academic admissions process. This means that if you are under consideration for a choral award at your first-preference college as a result of the choral award auditions, and you then apply to that college for your undergraduate study, we will set your second-preference choral award college as your second-preference college for the academic selection process. However, this will only be possible in some courses: if the course you apply for has other procedures to decide lower choice colleges, they will take precedence.
In addition to completing this online application form, your application must be supported by a report on your abilities as a singer, completed in confidence. This report may be from (for example) your director of music, choir director, or singing teacher. The report may be from one such person, but incorporate material from one or more other suitably qualified people. It is your responsibility to ensure that the person writing the reference knows the arrangements and deadline for submission of the reference. We do not require an academic reference at this point: this is only required in connection with your UCAS application to Oxford.
Your referee can submit the reference by email: as an attachment, in either doc or pdf format, to the admissions officer at your first-choice college of preference. We encourage you to submit by email, but the reference can if necessary be posted. Email and postal addresses for colleges can be found on the college pages of the Undergraduate Prospectus. (College information is also available here.)
Please ensure that emails and attachment file names clearly indicate your name.
The deadline for completing this form is 1 September 2020.
The deadline for receipt of the reference is 15 September 2020.
When you submit the application form, you will be taken to a page outlining the next steps of the choral award selection process.
