How to apply

If you consider that you meet the selection criteria for a post and wish to apply for it, click on the Apply Now button on the ‘Job Details’ page and follow the on-screen instructions to register as a new user.  If you have previously registered with the online system, log into your applicant account.  Please note that for some academic vacancies a different approach is required.  The approach you should follow will be made clear within each advert.

The online application form will require you to complete a number of screens with your application details, relating to your skills and experience.  When prompted, please provide details of your referees and indicate whether we can contact them at this stage.  The Job Description and Selection Criteria document will specify how many referees are required.  For the majority of roles you will also be required to upload a supporting statement and, for some roles, a CV (or, for roles involved in the UAS pilot, a Supporting Evidence form - see below for further information).  The Job Description and Selection Criteria document will provide details of exactly what you are required to submit for that specific role.  The supporting statement (or Supporting Evidence form) should demonstrate how you meet the selection criteria listed in the Job Description and Selection Criteria document.  

Please ensure all uploaded documents include your name in the filename, along with a description of the document (e.g. “Chris Smith Supporting Statement.pdf”) and that they are not password protected or saved with ‘track changes’.  All documents should be saved as PDFs.  Please upload only those documents that are specifically requested in the Job Description.

All applications must be received by midday on the closing date stated in the online advertisement.

University Administration and Services (UAS) pilot

A number of UAS departments are piloting a new Supporting Evidence form in place of the supporting statement.  The Supporting Evidence form is intended to clarify the level of detail required in order to help you demonstrate your skills and experience to the recruitment panel.  If the post you are applying for requires you to use this new form this will be clearly explained in the Job Description and Selection Criteria document associated with the post and it is very important that you read this before applying.
