October 2013

The Mathematical Institute officially opened.

September 2013

Blavatnik School of Government ground-breaking ceremony marked the official start of construction.

Mike Wigg – the University’s Director of Capital Projects and Property Management – gave a talk in the Mathematical Institute as part of Oxford Open Doors. This included an update on the development of the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter followed by a short site tour.

October 2012

Radcliffe Humanities (the refurbished Radcliffe Infirmary) officially opened.

September 2012

Blavatnik School of Government hosted its second public exhibition and consultation.

July 2012

New Radcliffe House opened. This building is now the home of the Jericho Health Centre and includes three GP practices. Upstairs are offices used by Oxford University Press and the University’s Department for Primary Care Health Sciences.

Prints and drawings by artist-in-residence, Weimin He, were exhibited at the former Outpatients' building as part of Oxfordshire Artweeks.

March 2012

An exhibition of photographs of the demolition of the old Radcliffe Hospital site at Art Jericho by ROQ photographer, Rob Judges.

Rob explored the empty rooms and roofless corridors, discovering the hidden framework of the old buildings and revealing signs of the people who had worked there.

September 2011

Somerville College student accommodation buildings were officially opened.

Prints and drawings by artist-in-residence, Weimin He, were exhibited at the former Outpatients' building as part of Oxfordshire Artweeks.

A public exhibition was held in St Luke’s Chapel during Oxford Open Doors weekend.

Mathematical Institute's official ground-breaking ceremony.

May 2011

Work started on the refurbishment of the Radcliffe Infirmary building, including the courtyard and the fountain.

January 2011

A public exhibition about proposals to re-house the existing Jericho Health Centre to New Radcliffe House on the ROQ site.

September 2010

As part of the Oxford Open Doors weekend (11-12 September), the public were invited to St Luke's Chapel where there was a display of the University's plans for the ROQ site – and shown the first floor boardroom of the Infirmary.

July 2010

Construction of the new student accommodation at Somerville College began.

May 2010

Planning permission was granted by Oxford City Council for the Mathematical Institute and the New Humanities building.

January 2010

Laing O’Rourke was appointed as the contractor for Somerville College’s new student accommodation buildings.

October 2009

A public exhibition about the second phase of the development – the Mathematical Institute and New Humanities building – took place on 15-16 October.

September 2009

Planning permission was granted for the refurbishment of the Radcliffe Infirmary and St Luke’s Chapel; the remodelling and refurbishment of the Outpatients’ building; new buildings for Somerville College, and an east/west link for pedestrians connecting Walton Street with Woodstock Road.

January 2009

A public exhibition about the first phase of the Masterplan was held on 26-27 January at Somerville College.
