May Morning celebrations

Magdalen College choristers sing an invocation to summer, Hymnus Eucharisticus, from the top of Magdalen College Tower to mark May Morning. Hymnus Eucharisticus was composed in the 17th century by a Fellow of Magdalen and has been sung every year on May Morning from the Great Tower.

Magdalen Bridge will be open to pedestrians, but closed to traffic, from 4.30am until 9am. The bridge will re-open to traffic between 8.30am and 9am. Details are on the Oxford City Council website.
