The colleges of the University of Oxford have different opening hours and charging policies. The information given here is intended for guidance only. Opening hours are subject to functions, examinations, conferences, holidays, etc. Entrance is at the discretion of the Lodge Porter and admission charges are subject to review.

We recommend that you check opening times and admission charges with the place you wish to visit. Groups should book in advance and all visitors to colleges must report to the Lodge on arrival.

The University is a working institution and our colleges, in particular, are places of residence, work and study. You are therefore asked not to enter staircases, college rooms and areas marked as private.

  • Charge: July-August £8.50, concessions £7; April-June £8 £6.50, concessions £5; September-March £7, concessions £5. Admittance is free for prospective applicants who are considering applying to Christ Church, with larger school groups admitted at the Custodian's discretion. Please identify yourself as a prospective applicant to the Custodian upon arrival.
  • Note: Large parties may be split. Advance booking for groups is recommended. Special "behind the scenes" tours are available if booked in advance. The visitor entrance to Christ Church (Meadow Gate) is accessed from St Aldate's through the Memorial Garden and Christ Church Meadow.
