Information Stands

A range of information stands will be available throughout the day in the South School, enabling attendees to find out more about services, facilities and projects or to ask any questions. The Information Stands Layout 2012 (973kb) is available to download.

Stand	Description
Begbroke Science Park	Find out about Begbroke Science Park, which offers University research departments the space to grow in an easily accessible environment, close to colleagues and adjacent to numerous research based start-up and spin-out companies. The Oxford University Knowledge Transfer Partnership Office is managed from Begbroke, as are two Knowledge Transfer Networks, the Oxford Materials Characterisation Service and various Knowledge and Technology Transfer events.
Bodleian Libraries	Visit the stand to find out about the collections and services offered by the 30 libraries making up the Bodleian group. We will have information about how we can help you, your students and academics in the following areas: measuring research impact, literature searching, current awareness, reference management, admission and access to Bodleian Libraries and attending a library induction.
Childcare Services	Visit the stand to obtain guidance and comprehensive information about UAS partners with regard to services such as university nursery provision, holiday play schemes and staff childcare tax saving schemes.
Conference of Colleges	Find out about the purpose and activities of Conference and its committees, and the role of the Conference Secretariat - and meet the team. A range of information will be available including “Who we are, What we do” flyers, handbooks of Conference and committee members, contact details, and timetables of meetings for 2012-13. Plus our ever-popular college-based quiz, with prizes courtesy of the colleges!
Conference Oxford	Conference Oxford is the conference marketing office for the University of Oxford. We provide a free venue search amongst our 51 venues. Dedicated to finding you a venue for your meeting, conference or function, we also offer help and advice on the planning of your events and conferences here in Oxford. Each year Conference Oxford handles in excess of 2,000 enquiries from the UK and around the world. Visit the stand to speak to members of the Conference Oxford team and find out about the facilities offered by member venues for conferences, meetings and functions - including weddings.
Department for Continuing Education	The Department for Continuing Education offers over 800 part-time courses – weekly classes, online courses, day and weekend events, Oxford qualifications, continuing professional development and summer programmes. ebxp	ebxp is an established marketing agency who have worked with the University for over three years. Their design and production capabilities can help strengthen and develop departmental and college marketing strategy both in print and online.
Equality & Diversity Unit	Visit the stand to find out more about Equality and Diversity in the University, how you can contribute to a more inclusive environment, the Equality Networks, Athena SWAN and the Harassment Advisory Service.
Estates Directorate – did you know?	Come and find out about the broad scope of OUED’s responsibilities, from conservation to security. View models of key capital projects, including the Park Hospital site and Blavatnik School of Government, watch a presentation about the work of the various sections, and take part in the quiz.
Examinations & Assessments	A one-stop-shop for practical and policy guidance on all aspects of Examinations & Assessments work: examiner appointments, examiner payments, taught submissions, research submissions and examinations, live examinations (timetabling, alternative arrangements, invigilator training, and examination papers), archiving of exam scripts, transcription of illegible scripts, and higher degrees.
Finance Division: Insurance Services	The Insurance Team will be available to answer queries and give advice and information on: insurance for travel, motor vehicles, buildings and contents, engineering equipment and liability (public, employer, professional etc); and risk awareness and reduction and the help and financial support available to departments in managing risk.
Finance Division: Pensions Office & Prudential	Members of the Pensions Office will be available to provide information and answer general enquiries about all the University pension schemes they administer. Key themes will be the changes to the University of Oxford Staff Pension Scheme (OSPS) and the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS). Information and advice will also be available for those approaching or considering retirement. Prudential will be in attendance alongside the Pensions team to provide regulated advice and take personal queries.
Graduate Admissions & Funding	Come and meet the Graduate Admissions and Funding team, have your questions answered and pick up a copy of our hot-off-the-press Graduate Prospectus featuring photos taken by our talented students from this year’s Graduate Photography Competition. We will be displaying many of the stunning photos in their full glory on screen.
Isis Innovation	Isis Innovation Limited is wholly owned by the University of Oxford. Find out more about Isis, which provides access to Oxford intellectual property, knowledge and expertise, through patents, copyright, software and consultancy.
IT Services	IT Services was created on 1 August 2012 through a merger of the three central IT departments - Oxford University Computing Services (OUCS), Business Services and Projects (BSP) and ICT Support Team (ICTST). We are committed to carrying forward the best of the values of these three departments in a new, dynamic IT Services which is dedicated to supporting the University of Oxford in its mission as a world-leading research and teaching university. Visit our stand to find out about the wide range of services we offer and the support we provide, as well as the latest developments in business systems for the University.
Language Centre	Come and find out what languages are on offer for you and your students. The Language Centre runs daytime and evening courses in 14 languages, including English for non-native speakers, has an extensive library of self-study material for over 140 languages, and can arrange special courses for individual departments.
Museums & Collections	The seven University Museums and Collections include the Ashmolean, Bate Collection of Musical Instruments, Botanic Garden, Harcourt Arboretum, Museum of the History of Science, Oxford University Museum of Natural History and the Pitt Rivers Museum. Come and find out about upcoming exhibitions, events, corporate hire of facilities and volunteering opportunities.
ORA, DataBank and DataFinder	The Bodleian Libraries are preparing to launch services for research data for Oxford: DataBank and DataFinder. Come along to find out how these services will support Oxford’s researchers and research administrators. Oracle CRM Higher Education Solutions	Learn about Oracle’s RightNow customer relationship management software and how it can help you support the student lifecycle and provide an improved student experience with Oracle by managing campaigns, surveys, mailings and enquiries more efficiently. RightNow is used by a number of University departments, including Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, Student Information and Personnel Services.
Oxford Learning Institute	Members of the Oxford Learning Institute will be in attendance throughout the day to answer questions about the personal and professional development support that we offer to the collegiate University.
Oxford Limited	Visit the Oxford Limited stand to learn more about the popular internal merchandise service, available to colleges and departments. Browse product samples, pick up a brochure, or discuss your needs with our friendly team. With our extensive supplier and product knowledge, we will work to meet the requirements of your conference, or event. We can source a wide range of products, from budget giveaways, to luxury gifts, all at the best possible prices. Oxford UCU (University and College Union)	Visit the stand to find out about UCU membership for staff on Grade 6 and above. Nationally UCU is the union which represents almost 120,000 academics, lecturers, researchers, administrators, managers, computer staff, library staff and postgraduates working in further and higher education in the UK. Locally Oxford UCU is your voice in discussions with the University of Oxford on a variety of issues which directly affect the terms and conditions of employment of academic and academic-related staff. We also provide an advice and representation service for members with individual problems, who have been in membership for at least 90 days.

Oxford University Student Union (OUSU)	OUSU exists to represent students across the University. This year, OUSU is focusing on how students can act as partners in their departments to improve their academic experience and the performance of the University.
Oxuniprint	Oxuniprint is the preferred print supplier to the University. Information on how to place print orders and samples of previous printed material will be available to inspire your publications.
Public Affairs: Design Studio and Image Library	Find out about the University’s Design Studio, which offers a creative, clear and cost-effective solution to your print communication requirements, and the Image Library, which allows members of the collegiate University to search and purchase images from the library’s rich collection of images of Oxford. Meet the team and find out more.
Student Financial Support	The stand will offer delegates the opportunity to meet with members of the Student Financial Support team and to discuss all aspects of Student Finance for continuing students, new 2012 students and prospective 2013 entrants. Student Systems Programme	Visit the stand to discuss the current status of the programme, the key areas it will provide new system support for, and the approach up to the go-live time in 2013. You will also be able to look at both student and staff views of eVision for a variety of key areas including the new Degree Ceremonies processes.
Student Welfare and Support Services	Visit the stand to obtain Disability Advisory Service publications, including information about specialist provision, such as mentoring for students with severe and enduring mental health problems. You will also find information about the Oxford University Assessment Centre, the Peer Support Programme, and the Counselling Service for students. Chocolates provided!
Undergraduate Admissions Office	The Undergraduate Admissions Office will showcase some of its outreach work with students locally, nationally and internationally.
University Apprenticeship Scheme	Apprenticeships are an excellent way to recruit technical and support staff at lower grades and to achieve succession planning. Apprenticeships today cover most technical and support staff roles: administration, finance, IT, facilities maintenance, audio-visual technicians, horticulture and lab, mechanical and electronics technicians. The University’s Apprenticeship Scheme provides advice and support on all aspects, from recruitment and college courses through to ongoing support of mentors and apprentices.
