The conference will close with a Q&A panel discussion in which you can hear about strategic issues affecting the collegiate University and raise questions about issues affecting UAS and the wider University. The panel will be made up of senior university and college officers, and will be chaired by the Deputy Registrar.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education): Dr Sally Mapstone

Sally Mapstone is Reader in Older Scots Literature in the Faculty of English and CUF Lecturer in English at St Hilda's College.

From 2007 to 2010 she served as Chair of the English Faculty Board. She became Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Personnel & Equality) in 2009 and took up her current role in 2011. As Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education), she is responsible for the University’s strategy and policies for teaching, learning, student support and admissions.

Michael Sibly  

(Chair) Deputy Registrar: Michael Sibly

Michael Sibly is head of the Academic Administration Division (AAD). Reporting to the Registrar, he works closely with the Pro-Vice-Chancellors, the Heads of Division, and a wide range of academic and administrative staff as well as taking an active role in representing the University at meetings with the city and county councils.

Michael Sibly joined the University in 1983 and has worked in a variety of posts in central and departmental administration, including head of the Planning and Resource Allocation section from 1998 to 2005.


  

Principal, Lady Margaret Hall: Dr Frances Lannon

Frances Lannon has been Principal of Lady Margaret Hall since 2002, having previously been Fellow and Tutor in Modern History since 1977. As Principal of LMH, she has led the college through a period of significant development, with the construction of new buildings, the enhancement of academic provision and an increase in student financial support.

From 2008 to 2009 she served as Deputy Chair of the Conference of Colleges and was then Chair from 2009 to 2011. Since 2011 she has been Pro-Vice-Chancellor (without portfolio), a role in which she undertakes a range of duties on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor.


  

Director of Estates: Paul Goffin

Paul Goffin was appointed as the University’s Director of Estates in March 2012. He previously spent over 10 years working in the Estates team at the University of Leicester, latterly as its director.

As Director of Estates at Oxford, he is responsible for providing vision, leadership and management in ensuring the effective and efficient development and delivery of Estates Services, which manages the University’s functional estate, property and asset activities.

 Saira Shaikh

Divisional Secretary and Head of Administration, MPLS Division: Saira Shaikh

Saira Shaikh joined Oxford in 2005, having gained a PhD in experimental physics and then worked in various administrative roles at the universities of Durham and Southampton. 

She is secretary to the MPLS Divisional Board and its principal strategic planning committee, heads the divisional office which comprises over 20 staff, and supports the Head of Division and the Associate Heads in developing divisional strategy, implementation planning for key divisional initiatives, and financial and budgetary oversight.


  

Director of HR: Julian Duxfield

Julian Duxfield was appointed as the University’s Director of Human Resources in January 2013, having previously been HR Director at G4S, the Department for Transport, and Carlsberg UK.

As Director of HR at Oxford, he manages the Human Resources Division (comprising Personnel Services, Equality & Diversity Unit, Occupational Health Service, Safety Office and Childcare Services), and works closely with the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Personnel and Equality) to manage and develop all aspects of the University’s HR policy and strategy.
