Described as one of the “architectural jewels of Oxford”, the Sheldonian Theatre provides an impressive backdrop for opening ceremonies, talks, seminars and lectures, able to accommodate up to 950 people. Drinks and refreshments can be served via our in-house catering team for between 80-200 people.

If you are looking to organise a large academic or corporate conference, then why not give your guests a quintessential Oxford experience by using two of the University’s flagship buildings - the Sheldonian Theatre and its sister venue, the Grade II listed Examination Schools The Examination Schools has 17 meeting rooms, offering large spaces (up to 440 delegates) for plenary sessions, space for exhibitor and poster board displays, as well as a multitude of break-out rooms.

An opening or closing award ceremony or talk can be held at the Sheldonian Theatre, while the main meeting and associated catering can be hosted at the Examination Schools. Only a 5 minute walk from each other through Oxford’s picturesque streets, both buildings offer a truly unique Oxford experience.
