Sexual health

The GUM Medicine Clinic at the Churchill Hospital offers free and confidential treatment and advice including:

  • Information and advice on sexual health
  • Testing for and treatment / management of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and other genital problems
  • Screening for infections, and support after sexual assault and rape
  • HIV/AIDS advice and testing
  • Emergency contraception, up to 72 hours after unprotected sex

The clinics are open access - this means that you do not have to be referred by your GP. It also means that you do not have to live locally to use this service. All tests and treatment are confidential and free of charge. Any medication needed will be given to you by the clinic.

  • Routine clinic - Monday to Friday by appointment only: For sexual health screening and treatment for all STIs and other genital problems. Call 01865 231231 between 8.30am and 6pm (4pm on Friday) to make an appointment.
  • Drop in clinic - Monday to Friday, 12.15 - 3.15 pm, no appointment required: A walk in clinic for people who want to have a check up for infections (regardless of whether they have any symptoms). Cervical smears, emergency contraception and pregnancy testing also available.
