Support for care leavers

The University of Oxford is committed to supporting students from a care background to ensure that you receive the help you need in order to have a successful university experience. Our support has been awarded the Buttle UK Quality Mark; recognition of institutions who go that extra mile to support students who have been in public care. 

What we can offer you

  • Through your college, assistance in securing 365-day accommodation.
  • Priority to receive a Moritz-Heyman Scholarship, made up of a bursary of £5,500 and a tuition fee reduction of £5,500, for every year of your course for those whose income is assessed as £16,000 or less.
  • Access to the standard Oxford bursary and tuition fee support, for those who do not qualify for a Moritz-Heyman Scholarship.
  • A support coordinator available to you throughout your time at the University of Oxford to discuss any academic, accommodation or financial concerns you may have. Your support coordinator will also act as a link between you and your Local Authority.
