Man Group Enhanced Bursaries 2012/13

Applications are now open for the 2012/13 Man Group Enhanced Bursary scheme, offering students from lower-income households the opportunity to gain additional financial support of £1,000 for each year of their course. Applications are open to students who are in their first year of undergraduate study, qualify for Oxford support (bursaries and fee reductions) and are studying one of the subjects specified by Man Group. Application forms will be sent to eligible students during Week 6 and are also available to download on the Fees and Funding Website. The form is in two parts; Part A should be completed by the student and Part B should be completed by their tutor. The completed application should be returned to Student Financial Support at the Examination Schools by noon on Wednesday 23 January 2013 (2nd week Hilary term).

Tsinghua University – scholarships to study in China

Tsinghua University are offering Oxford students full scholarships for postgraduate study. The scholarships cover tuition, accommodation, living allowance and medical insurance. For admission in 2013, please apply through Tsinghua’s website by Thursday 28 February 2013. If you have any queries about this scholarship, please contact grad@tsinghua.edu.cn.

Microsoft Office 2010 (and 2011 for Mac) for Students

IT Services and Microsoft have agreed a trial partnership, offering the latest Microsoft Office software to students for less than £50. The offer is available from the 6 November to 5 December 2012 and includes the current Office software (2010 for Windows, 2011 for Mac) plus free upgrades to any new versions released in the next three years so long as you are still a student. When you finish being a student you may keep the copy you have forever, but will have no more upgrade rights. Take the Bodleian Libraries 2012 Reader Survey & Win!

The Bodleian Libraries are seeking your assistance in assessing the quality of the library services by filling out a web-based survey, before 16 November. If you have already completed the survey, thank you! If you haven’t yet - please respond by giving your assessment of Bodleian Libraries services based on the library that you use most frequently. A comments box is available if you have feedback on other Bodleian sites or on the Bodleian Libraries generally. Please complete the survey even if you rarely visit one of the libraries - the survey also covers feedback on the extensive range of online services such as electronic journal collections. Don’t forget to key in your e-mail address at the end of the survey if you want to enter the draw for an opportunity to win an iPad or one of five £30 Amazon vouchers.

UK Banks and Small Businesses: Key to Economic Recovery

Ana Botin, the CEO of Santander UK will be giving a lecture and Q&A session on UK Banks and Small Businesses on Thursday 15 November 2012 at 1.30pm (seats should be taken by 1.20pm). The lecture is being held at Ship Street Centre, located opposite Jesus College on Ship Street. Places must be booked by emailing Ms Joely Gibbens (Events Office) at invitation@admin.ox.ac.uk.
