Hilary Term Exams and Submission Deadlines
Students due to sit exams or submit work in Hilary Term are strongly advised to view the information regarding regulations on the Exams and Assessment Student Gateway pages:
- Submissions for information about preparing taught submissions (extended essays, project work, dissertations).
- Exam Guidance for details on sitting exams and what is and is not allowed in an examination.
Chinese Government Scholarships
The Chinese Government is offering 3 full Scholarships to non-Chinese citizens who are currently at Oxford to study a variety of disciplines, primarily at postgraduate level, at a wide choice of Chinese universities commencing in the academic year 2013/14. The scholarships offer up to 7 years of funding, including up to 2 years of Chinese language tuition (if needed). The deadline for receipt of all application materials is

ANU Exchange – Deadline Reminder
An opportunity is available for a current graduate research student in any subject, to undertake a period of study at the Australian National University. A travel grant is available to cover economy return travel to Australia and a visa. The closing date is

International Alliance of Research Universities Global Summer Program
Applications for the IARU Global Summer Program will close on Friday 1 March 2013. This exciting learning experience offers students the opportunity to study at IARU member universities. By bringing together students and faculty from different countries and cultures, the courses provide a truly global perspective on key contemporary issues. There are a wide range of courses on offer and a full list can be found on the
IARU website. Thanks to generous donations from the University’s Alumni Association, the Victor and William Fung Foundation, and Santander up to 20 bursaries and scholarships are available. For more information and details of how to apply, visit the

Microsoft offer for Office 2010 (Win) or 2011 (Mac)
IT Services and Microsoft have extended the trial partnership offering the latest Microsoft Office software to students for less than £50 until 23 March 2013. The offer includes the current Office software (2010 for Windows, 2011 for Mac) plus free upgrades to any new versions released in the next three years so long as you are still a student. When you finish being a student you may keep the copy you have forever, but will have no more upgrade rights. To purchase visit the

Events
Race to the Stones, Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July
The Race to the Stones is a 100km walk or run across the Ridgeway in Oxfordshire, where you can chose to complete it nonstop or break it into two days staying at the overnight base camp. It takes place on the 13 and 14 July and participants will pass Iron Age forts, ancient burial chambers, cross the mighty Thames and the mystical down-lands of Salisbury plain on the way to the finish line at the 3,000-year-old stone circle at Avebury. Participants can choose whether to complete the 100km non-stop or break it into two days staying at the overnight base camp, making the event suitable for elite runners through to weekend walkers. Oxford Town and Gown 10K, Sunday 12 May
The Oxford Town and Gown 10k, starts and finishes in Oxford University. It is a closed road run around the city centre and the University Parks which has raised over £1 million for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. The event is chip timed and open to everyone, from fun runners that want to take to the street in fancy dress to those that want to achieve their personal best. The race is organised and funded entirely by the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign to raise vital funds and awareness to fight muscle disease in the UK. For more information visit the
