Accommodation
Information on accommodation for students is available from the following sources. The University Accommodation Office provides a register containing houses, flats and rooms to rent in the private sector, and also lets and manages accommodations owned by the University to graduates. Private accommodation is often advertised on the Daily Info or Gumtree websites and in the University Gazette each Friday.

Clubs, events and societies
Over 200 clubs and societies covering a wide variety of interests are available for students to join or attend.

- Help with University research - Get involved, and in some cases paid for helping with a range of studies, trials and ground-breaking projects.

- Oxford Newcomers' Club - Provides a meeting point for partners of newly arrived graduate students and staff, including coffee mornings, tours of Oxford colleges, visits to museums, and coach trips to places of interest in the surrounding area.
Common Rooms
The Junior Common Room (JCR) for undergraduates and Middle/Graduate Common Room (MCR/GCR) for graduates refers to both a physical room and a body, of which students are members. Elected representatives will often run social events and activities as well as providing support and advice services and a means of voicing student concerns about College affairs.
Oxford University Student Union (OUSU)
As a student at Oxford you are
automatically a member of the Oxford University
Student Union (OUSU), however, you have the right to
opt-out
of membership. OUSU promotes the academic, social
and welfare interests of its members throughout the
University. The Student Union provides a range of
services to its members including events, socials,
publications, and advice and information on student
issues, academic difficulties, housing, welfare,
disability, finacial problems and childcare.
Religion and belief
The Equality and Diversity website contains helpful information and advice on a range of religious issues, as well as a comprehensive list of faith societies, groups and religious centres in the Oxfordshire area.
Student Surveys
The University undertakes a number of surveys to provide students with an opportunity to have their say about life at Oxford. More information on the different surveys and how the results are used is available from the Student Surveys page.
University Club (Graduates)
The University Club is located on Mansfield Road and offers graduates a range of sporting facilities including a gym, football and cricket pitches and social spaces such as a bar, cafe and restaurant.
Work and skills training
The Careers Service portal,
CareerConnect, lists
vacancies for volunteering, work experience,
internships and graduate opportunities. You can
complete your profile to receive targeted emails
about jobs, events and employers. Many Oxford
students undertake short-term work experience
placements during their long vacations to try out
different careers and gain valuable skills and
experience.
Oxford Student Consultancy provides employability
skills training and work-based experiences to
students, along with free and professional
consultancy services to local businesses, charities
and community organisations. The
Oxford University International Internship
Programme provides summer work opportunities
and experiences: from publishing in Vancouver,
teaching in China, exploring Alabama, to fast-moving
entrepreneurial environments in India.
