Oxford Open Doors 2012

All Souls Chapel, Oxford Open Doors 2011

Oxford Open Doors is the country's largest heritage open days event and offers local people the opportunity to explore the city. Last year, 60,000 visits were recorded to over 185 venues and activities across the city, with Magdalen College the most visited venue in the country.

Around 45 University departments and colleges are set to open their doors to the public at this year's event, which takes place on 8 and 9 September.

Oxford Preservation Trust, which organises Oxford Open Doors in partnership with the University, is looking for volunteers to help at the event. They are looking for people willing to spare half a day to work as venue stewards, walking tour stewards, and promoters to staff the information stands. No detailed knowledge of Oxford is required - just an interest in the city and a friendly and enthusiastic approach.

If you are interested in volunteering, download the volunteering form from the Oxford Preservation Trust website and email it to Sarah Fenton at s.fenton@oxfordpreservation.org.uk. For further information about the event, please contact Sarah at the above email address.
