Toolkit to help reduce energy consumption
12 May 10
The University aims to reduce its carbon emissions by 3-10% by March 2011
Guidance on reducing your electricity consumption is available in a new energy toolkit.
Produced by the University's Environmental Sustainability team, the toolkit provides ideas and information about how staff and students can reduce their use of electricity and other types of fuel in departmental buildings.
The toolkit is part of the University's energy management strategy, which aims to reduce carbon emissions by 34 per cent compared to 1990 levels by 2020.
The University has also signed up to the national 10:10 Campaign which aims to reduce UK emissions by 10 per cent in 2010. The University's 10:10 target is to reduce carbon emissions by between 3 and 10 per cent compared to 2009-2010 levels by 31 March 2011.
