The Environmental Sustainability team, based in Estates Services will launch the 2018/19 Green Impact programme at St Luke's Chapel, ROQ on 17 October, 12pm to 1pm.
Green Impact in a national initiative which provides simple and effective ways for staff and students to embed positive environmental change. It is open to departments and colleges, with a special category for laboratories.
Last year's Green Impact teams put in place 519 actions and ten Gold awards were received at the University’s annual sustainability showcase.
Whether you are part of a small team or work on a really complex site everyone can help to make a difference.
Previous actions range from changing the type of paper used and embedding sustainability into staff introductions to introducing a bike pool scheme and a biodiversity garden. The list is endless.
Small changes quickly add up to make an impact, for instance if all of our staff and students each saved one piece of paper a day over the three eight-week terms, together the University would use 8,215 reams less of paper every year.
