IT Innovation project scoops funding award

A project funded under the University’s IT Innovation scheme, the GoGirl project, has been awarded over £100k by external donor, Goldman Sachs Gives.

The project, which involved training a cohort of local young women from The Leys in digital media, resulted in all the participants earning an AQA qualification.

This interdisciplinary project complements existing programmes aimed at widening access to the University of Oxford, but uses the fundamentally new way of using technology.

This external funding award will allow the GoGirl project to progress, enabling the scheme to extend to a second cohort of participants and for work to commence on producing a model to be rolled out across the UK.
