Following consideration by Council, the University has opted to participate in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). Applications for the TEF close on 26 January 2017.
The University's application has been prepared following discussion at Education Committee and in consultation with a range of academic colleagues across the collegiate University. After an assessment process, the results will be published by the end of May 2017.
To be eligible, institutions should have an approved access agreement and a judgement of satisfactory teaching quality. Oxford submitted a formal response to the Government's TEF consultation in 2016.
The University, through the Russell Group, has also pressed the Government to develop the TEF through an extended pilot period, creating a framework that adds value, and which assesses teaching fairly and accurately, without adding to regulatory burden.
