Industrial action, 22 June

The University and College Union (UCU) has notified the University that it will call its members out on strike on Wednesday 22 June.

The strike is in support of the UCU’s dispute with the University in relation to the 2016/17 pay offer.

The industrial dispute is between the UCU and the University. College-only employees are not being asked to take part in the industrial action. Those holding joint appointments are not being asked to take part in industrial action, except in relation to their University duties.

Deduction of salary for those taking strike action
Those who take strike action on 22 June will not be paid for that day. Deductions will be made at the rate of 1/337 of the individual’s annual salary (i.e. 365 days less 28 days’ statutory paid leave).

If you choose to take strike action, please complete a Payroll Deduction Form and send it to the Payroll Office. The form can be downloaded from the Finance Division website.
